LOS ANGELES—Los Angeles Sanitation and Environment (LASAN) aims to connect businesses, consumers, and residents throughout the City of Los Angeles with certified Los Angeles Green Businesses contributing to a cleaner future with its new online green business directory

Exhibiting local restaurants, retailers, service providers, and professional firms, eco-conscious shoppers can quickly search and support businesses committed to a greener Los Angeles this holiday season.

The directory created through the Los Angeles Green Business Program (LAGBP), was soft-launched at the Green Business Expo Event on Tuesday, September 23, giving current certified green business leaders the opportunity to become acquainted with the tool and its features. Certified businesses that have taken meaningful steps to reduce energy and water use, reduce and divert waste going to landfills and adopt eco-friendly practices that support a cleaner, greener Los Angeles.

Free and easy to use, the online directory further cements the LA Green Business Program (LAGBP) as a leader in the California Green Business Network (CABN). The tool reflects the City’s commitment to building a sustainable future and fosters community between environmentally responsible businesses and the communities they serve.

“With a valuable tool at the disposal of our eco-conscious residents, businesses and leaders in the City of Los Angeles, we create the space for more awareness around not just the LAGBP but sustainable business practices,” says LASAN Assistant Director Alex Helou. “We are moving into the future with the resilience and thriving of our communities in mind. This is an important step forward.”

This new public-facing directory connects eco-conscious shoppers and consumers with businesses that fit their needs and convictions, deepening the support for environmentally conscious businesses in their communities and across the City of Los Angeles.

As businesses become newly certified by the LAGBP, they will be automatically added to the directory unless the business owner declines. This addition to an internal LASAN directory will allow them to reach more people within the communities and neighborhoods that make up the City of Los Angeles.
