Meet Barbara. She is a Senior Construction Inspector for the Bureau of Contract Administration and has worked for the City of Los Angeles for the past 17 years. Originally from Connecticut, Barbara moved to California to attend Cal State Northridge where she earned her degree in Speech Pathology/Audiology.

Barbara began in the construction industry working as a roofer and with General

Contractors. She joined the City in May 2006 as an Assistant Construction Inspector and has since been promoted through the ranks to her present position as Senior Construction Inspector.

During her career, Barbara has been assigned to District 3/5, Materials Control, Payments, and Wastewater. She has worked on the NOS MAZE, Washington/Centinela street widening, and in Emergency Sewer Repairs. Starting in August 2010, she was assigned to LAX for 11 years where she inspected projects such as the Landside Access Modernization Program (LAMP), the Midfield Satellite Terminal, the Central Terminal update, the new Tom Bradley Terminal, and various airfield and street improvements. As of June 2021, Barbara was reassigned to District 3/5 where she is currently working as the Lead Inspector on the Potrero Canyon Park project.
