If you are paid to interact with the Los Angeles Department of Public Works, you may be required by City law to register as a lobbyist and report your activities. This applies to anyone — regardless of title or profession — including attorneys, consultants, business owners, developers, architects, and others.

The Board of Public Works (BPW) is the governing body of the City of Los Angeles Department of Public Works. Comprised of five full-time Commissioners appointed by the Mayor and confirmed by the City Council, the Board provides leadership and oversight for the City’s largest public service and infrastructure agency.

The Board is committed to delivering projects and programs that enhance quality of life, drive economic growth, promote public health, and protect the environment for all Angelenos.
