“The L.A. Experience: 100 Years of Public Works” is a 40-minute video documentary, chronicles the history of the Department of Public Works, from its earliest days to the present, and its contributions to the City. As part of the Department's centennial celebration, the documentary focuses on employees, past and present, that have made Los Angeles what it is today. Photos from as early as the 1870's are used to show how services were delivered to the burgeoning metropolis. It includes incredible film footage of the streetcars that were the lifeline of Los Angeles during the early part of the last century and the dedication of City Hall in 1928.
