Bureau of Street Lighting Installing 233 Solar Lights for CD3 Bike Path Project
The City of Los Angeles Bureau of Street Lighting (BSL) is proud to announce the installation of 233 new solar-powered lights along the Council District 3 Bike Path, a significant step toward a safer, more sustainable transportation corridor in the San Fernando Valley.

The project’s installation phase began Friday, August 1, and will continue through August 9. These lights will enhance visibility for cyclists, pedestrians, and nearby residents while reducing reliance on traditional power sources.
This effort reflects the City’s ongoing commitment to clean energy solutions and public safety. By harnessing solar technology, the Bureau is not only combating copper wire theft but also helping to reduce carbon emissions and operational costs.
Once complete, the newly illuminated bike path will serve as a model for future green infrastructure projects across Los Angeles.
