LASAN is proposing increases to the Solid Resources and Multi-Family Bulky Item fees that appear on residents' DWP bills. The rates have not increased since 2008, and LASAN no longer recovers the full cost of solid waste operations. Due to the resulting revenue shortfalls, the City's General Fund has been subsidizing trash collection, recycling, and hazardous waste disposal for several years.
