1. Project Delivery Fundamentals Training - A course focusing on the Bureau of Engineer's Project Delivery Manual.
2. MHN (Managed Health Network) courses hosted by Bureau of Engineering - A series of soft skills and training courses such as creating a positive work environment, time management, effective workplace communication, managing stress and more.
3. Construction Manager Certification Training Program - A course to prepare BOE employees to become Certified Construction Managers (CCM) with objectives to supplement and strengthen the participant’s skills with respect to project scheduling and cost management.
4. BOE Mentorship Program - A one-on-one program to promote employee learning and development; to provide informal, non-technical guidance for employees in BOE with pairings made on a skip-level basis.
5. AutoCAD and Civil3D training – Courses teaching fundamental skills of AutoCAD and Civil3D.
6. Reimbursement for professional license review, such as Fundamental Engineer, Professional Engineer, and/or Structural Engineer license exam courses, are reimbursed up to $1,000 per year.
7. Tuition reimbursement for courses taken related to employee’s duties or career goals. For undergraduate tuition, up to $2,500 is reimbursed per calendar year and for graduate tuition, up to $7,000 is reimbursed per calendar year.
8. Specialized training/certifications will be reimbursed up to $2,500 per calendar year, such as Envision Sustainability Professional certification (ENV SP).
9. Lynda.com – Online resource that BOE offers employees with a comprehensive collection of video tutorials and online courses on a variety of software and design topics.
10. High School Bridge Competition – BOE employees mentor high school students in engineering with an opportunity to practice project management, presentation skills, management of scope, resources and schedule and the responsibility to guide students to comply with the rules and regulations of the annual competition.
